After hours care
Our practice provides after hours care through our association with Canberra After Hours Locum Medical Service (CALMS).
The phone number is 1800 4 CALMS (1800 422 567).
During the coronavirus pandemic, we offer Telehealth as well as face to face in-surgery consultations. A standard consultation is still for one problem only. If there is more than one matter you wish to discuss, please book a long consultation.
Pathology results may be phoned for from 2pm weekdays. Our receptionists or nurse will tell you what your doctor wishes you to do next. With your consent, you may also be sent an SMS.
Please remember to ring for your result. Do not assume that the result is normal if you do not hear from us.
If you have any special needs (eg impaired mobility, need for an interpreter, visual or hearing impaired needs) please advise a member of our staff so that we may better assist you.
It is the policy of this practice to avoid interrupting consultations with telephone enquires unless the matter is urgent. Please leave a message with our reception staff. We will return your call at the earliest convenient time.
Why do you wait for the doctor?
Our practice endeavours to minimise waiting times. We know your time is valuable. However, general practice is unpredictable with emergencies and sick patients requiring immediate attention. Please help us by booking long appointments when required. If you are unsure, please speak to our reception staff.
Your personal health information is confidential and is not released to any persons without your written permission. If you wish to access any of your information, please discuss this with a member of staff.
Feedback and complaints
We strive to provide our patients with the best possible care. If however you are unhappy or dissatisfied with any part of the care you receive, please tell us. We would value the opportunity to discuss this fully with you. Because we seek continuing improvements to our service, your feedback is very important to us.
If we are unable to resolve any complaint to your satisfaction, you are encouraged to contact the Health Complaints Unit on 6205 2222.
